If you didn’t receive our card announcing our new name, or you didn’t see our new booth at BioMed, then we are happy to announce our new name, Misgav Venture Accelerator.

The name change came about as part of an overall rebranding effort. Working with a Trendlines marketing communications consultant and Studio Oz, we thought and discussed at length about what it is we really do. It’s true we are a “technology center.” But we offer our portfolio companies and the passionate entrepreneurs that work with them much more than just a physical location. While technology is important, the core of what we do is taking great ideas and building them into greater companies.

We guide, assist, and fund development. We foster entrepreneurship. We nurture fledgling businesses. Our new tagline “Supporting great ideas” was a natural outgrowth of these discussions about our purpose.

For those reasons, and more, we replaced “Technology Center” with “Venture Accelerator.” “Venture Accelerator” captures more of what we are all about. The “Misgav” remains the same because of history and geography, and because "Misgav" is Hebrew for lofty, which is what we aim to be.

No less important in our rebranding effort is our new look. The image of the arch made of stones with the colorful keystone updates a classic shape and translates the words of the tagline into a strong graphic image. The rebranding will be complete with our updated website, due to be completed within the new few months.


While change can be difficult or frightening, it can also be invigorating and motivating. We have received many positive comments about our new name and look, and look forward to continuing our work with companies, entrepreneurs, and investors.
