Background
IBC Coating Technologies has developed proprietary technologies for diffusion coatings of steel and hard metals based on self-propagating synthesis. Through the development, IBC has come up with low-cost coating such as borides, chrome carbide, vanadium carbide, and carbonitrides.
Technology
The coatings significantly increase the hardness of the external layer of mechanical products and components to provide protection against wear and corrosion.

| Development Status
|
The company joined MTC in 1998 and started operating a commercial coating unit in Q498 (sales stage). Commercial coating services for a number of applications such as dies for turbine blades, cutting and machining tools, and gun bores are provided to industries in Israel and the United States. The company established a U.S. subsidiary in 1999. MTC exited from this investment in 2004.
